Shared docs for Claude

Claude is great at working with documents — but only when it can reach them. Writespace gives Claude a real, persistent workspace it can read from and write to directly, over the Model Context Protocol. Your docs stay in one place, and Claude works in them alongside you.

Connect in a minute

Issue a personal access token from Writespace Settings, paste it into Claude Desktop or the CLI, and Claude can see your workspace. No plugins to maintain, no files to upload each session. The connection is a standard MCP server, so it keeps working as your docs grow.

What Claude can do with your docs

Once connected, Claude isn't just reading pasted text — it's operating on live documents:

  • Find the right doc with full-text search instead of you hunting for it.
  • Append decisions, draft sections, or rewrite a single heading in place.
  • Move an RFC from draft to accepted by updating its metadata.
  • Link one doc to another with stable IDs that don't break on rename.

A typical instruction — “move the auth-rewrite RFC to accepted, append the decision under Outcome, and link it from the Q2 plan” — becomes a handful of tool calls Claude runs for you. When it's done, your open editor reloads the updated docs in the same tab.

Persistent context, not a fresh start every chat

Because the docs live in Writespace, Claude picks up where you left off. Your workspace becomes the knowledge base Claude plugs into — the same notes, handbooks and specs available in every conversation, instead of re-explaining context each time.

Shared with people too

These aren't only Claude's docs. Invite teammates and edit together in real time with live cursors, while Claude works in the same workspace. Humans and agents, one source of truth.
